The ceiling sure was a pain, but the walls went up much easier. Here's our first wall board being hung |
Mike's finishing up the last screws on our first new wall. |
We worked our way to the window and Mike used the rotozip to cut out the window hole. |
Before hanging drywall we had a few more support boards to put up to help stiffen the wall and add attachment points for the wall board. |
Mike planned it all out pretty well. Here's how it looked before the walls went up. |
All hung, now there's just 5 or 6 more steps before we're pretty much done. |
So, we taped and mudded. |
Then we sanded and mudded again. |
Then we sanded and mudded again, then sanded. Next step was the primer. |
The final step was the paint, but we bought the cheap stuff. |
So, we of course had to put on two coats. |
Once we moved all our things into the den, Mike and I put up a temporary wall to keep the pets out of the demo zone. |
We saved much of the demo for Ron since he was a bit disappointed before when he miss out. Mike had already removed the panelling to find this lovely wallpaper - yuck! |
We tore out the dining room pretty quick and had it cleaned up in no time. |
Then it was on to the laundry room. That took a bit longer, there was insulation that was getting eaten by silverfish, but 4 pairs of hands makes for pretty light work. |
