Yet another productive month! We bought some very nice Pella windows and had them installed this month. They came unfinished so that we can stain them to match our trim work. Mike also worked on the kitchen, finishing demolition, leveling the one wall and installing the radiant floor heating tubes. During the last week of the month Mike's folks came to lend a hand. Mom watched Grace while Dad helped Mike build soffits in the kitchen and dining room.

Here's the new window in the den.

The new windows in the dining room. This month we got to see fox cubs right out this window, playing on the hillside.

The new window in the living room.

Mike tore the old flooring out and installed ledger boards to hold up the mesh that keeps the insulation off the ground.

Here's the vapor barrier.

The next step after installing the mesh was to insulate the floor and put down plywood where the radiant tubes will be installed.

Here's where the tubing enters and leaves the floor.

The tubing is installed and fixed in place.

A mass of new wood, Mike leveled the wall on the right and Dad helped him install the soffits that will house the wiring, lighting and duct work.

Another look at the soffit in the kitchen.

In order to finish installing soffits in the dining room, the guys needed to move the pantry to it's final spot - the den. But, first a little trimming was needed so that it would fit.

A bit of furniture juggling was involved. The pantry was scooted out, this long set of cabinets took the place of the pantry.

Then the armoire was moved to take the place of the cabinets.

And finally the pantry took the place of the armoire...quite a complicated maneuver.

Then the boys finished building the soffit.
