Sorry it took me so long to get the site updated this month, I've become a little more acquainted with the couch and the TV lately. But while I have become a total couch potato Mike has pushed into high gear and managed to get a bunch done. He installed blocking in the living room ceiling, finished hanging all the drywall on the second floor, and even had time to finish the drywall in the guest bedroom & nursery.

blocking

Mike installed blocking in the ceiling so that we have a bit more support for hanging the drywall.

walking the plank

Once the drywall was hung in the master bedroom we decided it would be nice to have a little sound insulation, so Mike hung the insulation in the stairwwell while carefully balancing on this beam.

Here's another look. Mike is about 10 feet above the living room floor.

hanging drywall

Here's Mike hanging drywall in the guest bedroom. The stairwell is now becoming separate from the bedroom.

separate stairwell

Completely closed in stairwell, this place is really starting to feel different now.

We continue to remember those days in October when the entire 2nd floor was completely open.

guest room wall

A look from inside the guest bedroom and the drywall hung on the wall.

hallway ceiling

Next, I helped Mike hang drywall on the ceiling in the hallway. What you can't see is all the support Mike put behind the ceiling to make it level and straight.

Here's the end of the hallway by the master bedroom.

linen closet

Next, Mike framed out the linen closet.

Then, he hung drywall in the rest of the hallway. Here's a look down the hall from the nursery.

bedroom closet

Mike's completing the wiring in the closet. This must be shortly after hangin the drywall because of all the dust you can see in the air.

Here's a photo after the dust has settled.

finished drywall

Here's the guest room with finished seams. Next step Primer!

Here's the nursery with mudded seams.

stairwell platform

Here's Mike's platforms for hanging drywall. We still need to figure out just how we're going to finish the drywall in this stairwell.

A look from the livingroom of the ladder/platform used to stand on while hanging drywall.

Perched on his platform screwing in the drywall for the stairwell.

An action shot of Mike hanging drywall. Soon after this we broke down and bought a real drywall gun. Mike was getting pretty frustrated with the "dimpler" attachment for his drill. I think this was an excellent investment, we're just sorry we didn't splurge earlier.
