For many years it has been my dream, my desire, and my prayer that
God would raise up some men at the Beth Haven Baptist Church, who were interested in “the ministry”. Thirteen years I waited, and then all at once we had half-a-dozen
men that began showing interest in varied levels of ministry.
Most pastors today would send their men
across the country to a Bible College.
There are, in my opinion, at least four problems with that approach.
1) The only one that can train my men to my
exact specifications is ... me.
2) Most young men that go off to Bible
College don’t come back. They end up in
someone else’s ministry.
3) Beth Haven needs men who are willing to
work the ministry. If we send them
away, we send away our best workers!
4) When away in Bible College the student
misses first hand experience of “the ministry”. The greatest tool for learning the ministry is the ministry
itself!
Besides all of that, we have men and women
who would like an in-depth Bible education that have no interest in quitting
their jobs, moving across country, and preparing for full-time ministry.
It is with all of this in mind that we
decided to start the Beth Haven Baptist School of Preaching & Bible
Institute.
We pray that God will bless our efforts!
